Way Up North is a whimsical tall tale about betrayal and revenge set in the last frontier. Local director Levi A. Taylor brings a community of over 150 ambitious Alaskan artists together to experiment with a unique brand of storytelling. Featuring the musical stylings of Anchorage's own Rebuttals, Way Up North will have you tapping your feet to every unspeakable act and leave you grinning for more.
Way Up North is Levi Taylor's first professional film project. Last year he left his job in broadcast television to follow his life-long dream of creating competitive cinema in the north. Taylor wrote Way Up North for his father to demonstrate that an audience would be intrigued by his legacy, and furthermore, that even the grittiest of details can be displayed in fun. Needless to say, Taylor grew up in a unique world and he learned about life through the stories of real Alaskans who strove to live outside the box. Way Up North was designed to poke fun at the grittier qualities of the criminal lifestyle. Levi plans to contrast this image in his next work, a stylized drama that explores the human experience within the outlaw lifestyle set in one of the most romantic settings in the world..
